With the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines' C.DSM credential next to your name and on your wall, existing and potential patients will know you are qualified to manage their obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
Do you know that 80-90% of adults with OSA remain undiagnosed? Or that 1 in 4 of your patients is already suffering from OSA? Or that over 50% of children diagnosed with ADHD suffer from sleep apnea? Do you know about the AASM-approved alternatives to CPAP? Most importantly, do you know that as a dental practitioner, your experience and expertise uniquely situate you in a position to manage OSA in your existing and new patients? The ACSDD Academic Certificate (Update 2016) gives you the medical and dental knowledge you need to get you started!
Whether you are new to Dental Sleep Medicine or a veteran practitioner, your hard work and financial commitment should pay off in the short term and long term. That's why we've designed the Academic Certificate as the first step to becoming a Diplomate of the ACSDD. After you earn your C.DSM through the Academic Certificate, you can choose to move on toward Diplomate status with no additional testing required.
